Visual Diary D 38 (c.1994-96)

This album contains a rich collection of source material, notes etc., mostly dating from 1996, but also some material from 1994-5 (and earlier), including:

• (loose at the start) several photo pockets including work-in-progress photos of ‘House with Tree’ paintings
• numerous photos of works in progress, including Theatrical Façade 1996 [Canberra], High Fenced (1996) etc. (some clearly dated Sept.-Oct.1996)
• (reproduced here:) photo of Arkley himself viewing the city of Melbourne, with the former Gas & Fuel buildings in the background: possibly a source image for Untitled [‘Man looking onto cityscape’] (1994?)
• doodles (some dated 1994)
• sources for various completed works inc. various houses, Tudor villages, etc.
• page of source images for projected night houses: detail reproduced in Carnival Fig.4.30
