Another example of Arkley’s ‘private’ style for family and friends: see also (e.g.) Untitled (“Bunch of Flowers”) (1987) [W/P] and Untitled [Birthday drawing] 1990 [W/P].

This work – a birthday portrait of Temin’s pet cat – was included in the ‘friends’ section of the 2015-16 TarraWarra Arkley exhibition, together with several works by Temin, now a well-regarded artist from the generation following Arkley. She acknowledges a significant debt of inspiration to him during her student years: see Fitzpatrick & Lynn (2015).
