This work, shown in HA Tolarno 10/83, is a variant of the most prominent head in Untitled [Icon study #2] (1982) [W/P] and Icon (triptych) 1983.

There are also obvious parallels with the ‘Tattooed’ series, especially Tattooed Head (1983)
