The provenance is rather vague, and the work does not seem to have been documented before its auction in 2001, but it appears to be authentic.

Untitled [study for Muzak Mural] 1981 [W/P] is a comparable, slightly more refined, and later example, still in Arkley’s studio collection at his death.
