This drawing, submitted for the Minnie Crouch Prize, Ballarat Fine Art Gallery 1975, is one of several extant large-scale works on paper based on the same formal idea of an abstract ‘landscape’ of various air-brushed monochrome shapes: see now Untitled [Winter Notations variant] 1974 [W/P] and Untitled [Winter Notations variant] 1976 [W/P]. This example is in excellent condition.
= ‘White’ W/P cat.252 [previous no.230]
NB Winter Notations 1975, a large white canvas auctioned in 1995, and possibly exhibited at Tolarno in 1975, is based on a different composition made up of groups of short sprayed lines.
