This canvas, literally in a ‘double-door’ format, combines replicas of Proton-Neutron 1979 and 50’s 1979 (for comments, see Carnival 59).

A probable completion date of 1979 is preferred here to 1979-80 (as indicated in Monash files, and Carnival 59), as the work is shown already in completed form in Arkley’s archive slides processed Dec.1979. This painting also appears in the background of Robert Rooney’s 1980 photograph of Arkley sitting in Untitled [Replica Rietveld Chair] (c.1975-6?) [3/M].
