Untitled [Zappo study] (1983) [W/P]

This work obviously dates from the planning phase of the composition completed in definitive form as Zappo 1983. Of particular note here is the large screw-shaped form at top centre, which suggests a transitional development from the human figure in the same position in Untitled [Zappo study] (1982) [W/P], to the head with tubular legs in the 1983 painting and subsequent variants of the composition.
