Another pattern made up of curved lines. In this case, the  impression is of  a mechanical diagram, suggesting the workings of a clock or something similar.

The imagery also reminds the writer of the medieval imagery of the ‘Wheel of Fortune’, as in a drawing by 13th-century French architect and artist Villard de Honnecourt (see Theodore Bowie, ed., The Sketchbook of Villard de Honnecourt, Indiana Univ.Press, 1959, pl.64).
